A MINUTE OR TWO

NUM MINUTO

FEEL THE VIBE

The historic center of the municipality of Goiás is completely dark. The silence is total and the 20,000 people that fill this space are completely still.

Punctually at 00:00 on Holy Wednesday (also known as Dark Wednesday) the musicians arrive. They aren't playing anything yet, but the crowd starts to get more agitated at their mere presence.

Torches begin to be distributed to the population. A flickering orange light, very concentrated. A strong smell of kerosene in the air.

The music starts and the farricocos appear, with their scary outfits, torches lit, running over the crowd! They have a clear mission to find and arrest a man.

Barefoot, with accelerated steps, following the rhythm of drums and hearts that beat fast with the adrenaline caused by fear, they advance decisively, pushing the crowd to the corners of the streets.

The atmosphere is tense! A strong impulse to flee takes hold of the city: Jesus fleeing the Roman guard before his arrest and crucifixion, each of the Christians present there, 2 millennia later, fleeing from their own sins, from their own mistakes, from their own meaningless life. .

The procession stops a few times in front of both churches. The music gets faster and faster, the steps get faster and faster, the fear and urgency stronger and stronger. The heat is indescribable! Hell could not be experienced any other way!

The suffering of Christ, in his last moments, relived by each of the faithful present there.
