FEEL THE VIBE

An orixá with infinite powers, with the infinite strength of the sea.

 

An orixá that can be reassuring or deadly. At the same time serene and capable of acting with a destructive fury. Like the sea.

 

It is necessary to please her. Give her gifts. Worship her infinite strength.

 

This is Iemanjá, whose children and devotees, once a year, in December, occupy Praia Grande on the coast of São Paulo to pay their respects and honor the Queen of the sea, the “mother whose children are fish”.

​

Born out of water, these fish seek connection and integration with the infinity of this environment. They contemplate, dance, bow, offer, set up altars, light candles.

 

Iemanjá receives the gifts that please her and returns those that, for whatever reason, she does not accept. The beach and the sea are witnesses of these choices.

 

For those who believe, anything is possible. Infinity can be reached. The sea can be an ally. Mother Nature and Mother Yemanjá can meet all the needs, all the requests of the faithful devotees.

 

A devotion as huge as the sea.

 

It is impossible not to admire the majesty of faith.

MYTHOLOGY

Yemanja drowns her lovers in the sea

​

 

Yemanja is the owner of rare beauty and, as such, a capricious woman with extravagant appetites.

​

She once left her abode in the depths of the sea and came to earth in search of the pleasure of the flesh.

​

She found a handsome young fisherman and took him to her liquid bed of love. Theire bodies had known all the delights of the encounter, but the fisherman was only a human and had drowned in his lover's arms. When dawn came, Yemanja returned the body to the beach.

​

And so it always happens, every night, when Yemanja Conlá is enchanted by the fishermen who go out in their boats and rafts to work.

​

She takes the chosen one to the bottom of the sea and lets herself be possessed. Then she brings him back, lifeless, to the sand.

​

The brides and wives run to the beach early, waiting for the return of their men who went to sea, begging Iemanjá to let them return alive. They take many gifts, flowers, mirrors and perfumes to the sea, so that Yemanja always sends lots of fish and lets the fishermen live.

FLAVORS

Coconut Manjar for Yemanja

 

Ingredients:

1 can of condensed milk

2 cans (the same measure of condensed milk) of whole milk

4 tablespoons of corn starch

1 glass of coconut milk

150 g fresh grated coconut

 

Preparing:

Bring the condensed milk, milk and starch to medium heat and stir constantly;

When it's cooked, already thick, add the coconut milk and grated coconut, stir for another 2 minutes.

Remove from heat, place in a wet hole shape and refrigerate.

For you, serve with the syrup of your choice: black plums, burnt sugar, red fruits.

For Yemanja, do not add syrup and serve over a banana leaf.
