FEEL THE VIBE

Jesus was born in a simple place, but surrounded by much love and joy.

So is the small Church of Lapinha, in the Liberdade neighborhood, in Salvador: a safe shelter, where the faithful are received to celebrate such a special date with lots of love and joy.

It is a party without pomp and that is precisely where its beauty lies.

​

Several Ternos de Reis – groups made up of representatives of the wise men and other characters present in biblical history – play in the streets and in the square in front of the Church. They take turns, parading through the streets, playing and singing marches that talk about the birth of Jesus and the visit of the Wise Men.

Children, adults and seniors walk the streets following the groups. Some people sit in front of their houses and wait for the groups to pass.
